occasionally if I can catch em, I keep a saugeye or two. All others go back. Except when I go to MI on my yearly trip I keep limits on bass and pike. Mom and dad freeze the fillets to eat later.

*Wink* ~ but I did vote to keep one now & then cuz my kids n' some older friends like fresh fish ... myself, I just can't understand how/or-why anyone would want to eat a "Dead" fish -- Yucky-Poo:rolleyes: :D

I guess my answer would have to be "it depends"
A big ole catfish? Release every time! Don't care to eat 'em!
A limit of jumbo perch from Lake Erie? I'll release those into a skillet of hot oil every time! :D
Seriously, I'll keep fish I intend to eat, but release smaller ones and the ones that are large enough to be beyond good eatin' to fight another day.
Ray, You'd rather eat a live fish?????

easy gentlemen, we've got a reputation to uphold around here!
If I feel like cleaning them and the freezer is empty then I keep them. I will only keep eyes, perch, crappies and bluegill if I get any big enough. Thats what I like about a fishin license, it makes it my choice as long as I play by the rules. The only exception to this is if someone invites me to fish their spot and asks me to C&R then its C&R.
Ray....... I just don't understand

Mostly C&R but if Im real hungry I'll keep a few.. Really anymore I only keep eyes and crappies. Was thinking about keeping a few next time out as the freezer is empty. Most the time I just dont feel like cleaning or I'll give them to more needy people like Misfit. :D

I keep some bluegill every once in awhile for the table but I doubt i'll keep any in the near future because I still have some in the freezer.

I would say I give the other 5% to Rick but since he taught Kayla to lie about what she caught I can no longer claim the crappies:eek:

When I say I keep my limit, I only keep larger size fish for eating. The smaller or pregnant fish I never keep.

I think you taught Kayla too good. Last trip she told Grandma that You didn't catch any fish either! She caught all of them!:D

Depends on the fish and where I'm fishing: In Erie --- eyes -- keep limit; perch -- limit; crappie n gills -- keep; smallies and largemouth -- almost always c&r; sheephead -- c & R; gobies -- kill......; commorant -- can't catch :-)

I always release muskies. We have almost no natural reproduction here in Ohio.
