Went scouting this morning and made a couple setups South of Barnesville on 800. Saw one at a setup, but I think I scared him. Howled a couple times and waited, then around 2 or 3 minutes later I gave a series with the cottaintail. Made a big mistake though I think. I used the horn with call and made it too loud. Out about 350-400yds in a brushy area, he took out like a scalded dog. I say he was coming, but scared him off with the volume. :( Anyway, shoulda stayed home. Made a lot of noise snooping around and with every step wondering if I was gonna bust my arse. Everything is still iced up in this area. Boy if I was still a kid I'd have a ball with a saucer sled on them ice covered hills.:) Me and Doug are supposed to give er a shot tomorrow, but calling for heavy rain tonite and the am. Sure hope it melts this crap off. Probably get some floods down in the Ohio Valley area though. Been seeing tons of turkeys. You guys that turkey hunt shouldnt have a hard time bagging a couple this spring. Later,
