putting feed stick's on a 330 and sticking

thru the ice make's them nervous:cool:

chopping holes thru the ice can spook them if your close to the lodge or den. walking around on top of the lodge or den really spooks them. try to find a run and place a 330 in it, or a narrow spot there swimming thru . you can build a fence out of dead wood and force them thru a opening with a 330 in it. if there used to eating corn in that area, try a ear of yellow corn for bait . another thing to try for a baited set , a friend recently told me of this , is to use a 5" or so long piece of white pvc pipe , 1/2" dia. on the 330 trigger wires. put one on each trigger wire , bend the end up so it will stay on. it will look like a fresh bait stick to a beaver . another under ice set is to place 330's , sticking out from against the dam wall into the pond. place a dive pole over them going out into the pond and several deadpoles stuck down into the mud vertically straight out from the trap to create a fence. on either side of that , pull out part of the dam so the water is flowing . baited pole sets with footholds work to under the ice as well as snares . stay away from the lodge or on top of it as much as possible. look for bubble trails under the ice leading away from there , there heading towards the feed pile , even if you can't see it. you can also put bait on a #330 and suspend it thru the ice by the trap chain or wire attached to the ends of the springs , make sure the top of the trap is a foot under the bottom of the ice . if you think there conibear shy , try snares . if theres any open water , check and see if there coming out to feed. and make sets there . mark
