30 min N of Columbus OH, we had 4-5" on one small pond today (1/17) and the small one below it was at 3.5 to 4" . Both have springs and outflows had some flow. They were about 2" last Sat. Fish were hungry.

You guys ice fish that far south:)

we try to when we can, last year was a great year we had ice from the middle of january untill sometime in early march. we caught lots of trout and then we fished some of the ohio power lakes, caught some nice bass, lots of bluegills and crappies

I saw a post on another forum where some guys did well on gills on an AEP lake in the last day or so - I assumed they meant Ohio Power??? Watch out for the beaver runs:)

Buckeye Lake had a healthly 4"+ on the south shore today(Sun) and was making ice when I left at 7:30 PM

Did you have any luck today? I fished off Fairfield by the channel yesterday, ended up with some dink eyes, biggest was 12 inches.Water was really cloudy then, how'd it look today? Where do you live? I'm up in the Mount vernon area. Thanks, Craig

Craig,
This is what I posted in the BL thread:

Sun evening - 4+ inches off Fairfield and making ice when I left at 7:30 pm. Way more lookers than biters, no good fish. Got more interest with glow w/red than glow w/green. Tipups blanked. Wind was blowing pretty good and once the temp dropped & the ice got real noisy the bite seem to die. No snow cover.

Handfull of guys out. Some open water in the typical 2 spots back in the channel between the points.

Good Luck.

Can't add much. I was on the w point of the channel,w of beach. From gofish stuff, it sounds like you do as well (or better) as anyone. I would expect you'll get on anywhere you want next weekend. I'm heading n. If you haven't tried the nite bite on BL, you should. Good Luck
