So what do all you varmit shooter think of Simmons scopes? I bought a 3-9x50 Simmons for my .223 I ordered. The farthest I will be shooting is at the most 200 yards. I would love to get a Leupold but its the money thing for me. Do Simmons seem to hold up very well?

I have several Simmons scopes. They are a good scope. I just
like Leupold. I don’t know if there is enough difference to
justify the price. But, the rifles I use the most the Simmons
are being replaced by Leupold. From now on when I get a
new rifle I will save my money until I can get a Leupold. I
know it hurts to spend that kind of money on a scope. But
my eyes are getting weaker and I need all the clarity in the
scope I can get. Do you have a Leupold on any of your
rifles? It doesn’t seem like there is a difference when you are
standing in a store looking through a Simmons, Bushnell,
Tasco or a Leupold. But when you hit the woods and fields
you will see what I’m talking about. Then there is the
Leupold guarantee. I hear they are very good at backing up
their products.

Just remember I said I have several Simmons on my rifles also. They are a good scope for the money.

For the money, the simmons is fine just like buckrun said. I have so many hobbies, that it is hard to cough the xtra cash for a leupold. For me that is a Leupold, or another scope, boots, socks, and some other misc. items that will allow me to get through the season. As I climb the job ladder, I'll probably upgrade my equipment. Got a Simmons 3-9 x 40 on a remington 30.06, and bushnells on my 1187 and Thompson .50 cal, and they are more that adequate.

I see nothing wrong with simmons scopes.I have simmons scopes on all my rifles from a 22 to my shotgun and have had only one problem with them and thats that little o ring that goes around the eye piece it seem to fall off and get lost but no biggy.I have been trying to switch my scopes out with better quality scopes but the funds seem to be going to other things, but i did buy a Nikon monarch for my pistol and love the scope and the custumer service is top notch. After shooting at the range wiyth the new scope i went home to clean my pistol after looking at the scope i notice two brass pins inside the scope, emailed Nikon told them what the problem was and they told me to send it in for repair, two weeks later a brand new one at the door.So if your looking to up grade and cant afford the top of the line with leapold look into Nikon i'm sold on them and will switch all my rifles and any new rifle with Nikons.
