Although I do not carry a firearm I am starting to consider taking the classes here in MI to be able to do it. Walleye fishing at night and boat landings can be some pretty scary places. I believe that in a situation that you would feel compelled to use a firearm for your safety the ramifications of future legal issues would be the last thing on your mind and if it were you probably would not shoot and suffer the consequences of that hesitation. Just for the record, this type of violence has been suffered by hikers and backpackers on a regular basis. It seems the local thugs consider them easy marks. This issue has been debated on those sites for several years. Just some thoughts.
