My parents were telling me how good this was when they tried it, and convinced me to do the same. I finished it last night, and it is amazing! :D

Take a section of the neck, like a neck roast, bones and all, and cook it in a slow cooker (Crock Pot) overnight in a mixture of 1/2 beef broth and 1/2 water, enough to cover the roast. Remove the roast from the cooker and use forks to pull the meat off the neck, away from the bones and other tissues. Put the meat in a large container or pot and mix in with the BBQ sauce of your choice (I used Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory and Brown Sugar). Heat it up and eat it up on sandwiches. It's like pulled pork BBQ, only with deer neck roast. :coolgleamA:

I was trying something similar to that last week. I had my bucks neck in a pot simmering for several hours. I set the pot outside to cool and about an hour later went out to get it and it wasn't in the pot. I look over and my dog has the entire neck in his mouth. Seeing the grin on his face and his tail wagging, I couldn't be mad. He looked hilarious with about 6-8 inches of neck bones sticking out from each side of his mouth. He can't talk, but from his actions, I think it must have tasted good.
