Making plans to make a road trip for the for the spring snow goose hunt somewhere here pretty soon. Anyone ever go during the spring??? I'm looking at going to Missouri but haven't decided for sure. Two days of hunting is pretty cheap. I was looking at $500 for the trip. Theres a conservation order for the spring hunts because they are destroying the tundra. I've looked at several outfitters, its almost a must for snow goose, putting out and buying 1000 rags not really worth it for couple days. From what I read use can use electronic callers and unlimited bag limit. Anyone ever eat them???
Should be interesting having thousands of birds come in at once. I had about 8000-10,000 mallards working a field in N Dakota in October looked like a big black cloud and when they started landing turned into a big funnel, but I they don't make the noise like the geese. The guy said you can't even hear the gun shoot from the guy next to you because of how loud it is.
Anyone other states I should look at??? Missouri looked good because its an easy drive, 8 hrs or so.
