Where oh where did my 22 go?

I took a head shot at a squirrel climbing up the main trunk of an oak. Shooting just a hair low, the bullet wacked about a 1/3 of his neck out. After inspecting the hit, somehow the bullet came downward an exited out of his side, then went back in an stopped in his rear quarter. Must have been some ricochet. Thought it was strange. Never had a 22 stick inside a squirrel before.

Yeah, might be a good idea to keep an eye on the grassy knoll next time you are hunting in that spot.

Rimfire .22s are well known for ricochets. :dizzy:
