Did anyone limit out the first day of dove season?

My neighbor took me to 500 private acres he manages for a family member in exchange for me telling him a little about hunting doves. We got there late in the morning and walked to a fence line that looked to be between trees and food. After some wait one flew in from behind me, and I unloaded with my 16 ga. double, only to miss. Just then a dozen flew up only 10 yards out. They had been sitting right under my nose. A lone quail also launched straight out of the flock.

My friend shot up a box of shells and got one, but he is ready to try again. :redface:(My score is being held in secret......... to protect my reputation.)

Two buddies and I went out yesterday and shot 13, 13 and 15.. We're not going to talk about how many boxes each it took to do it... We were hunting public fields so every bird came in about 40 mph with the afterburners on.

Shot a limit in about 30minutes with a .410 at one of the public fields. It was a fantastic morning. Unfortunately, the dog is on the injured list and is walking around on three legs. I am going to give it till tomorrow morninng and if he is not better, we will be making the trip to the vet. I can't figure out if it is his paw, leg, or shoulder.

hey 3006 that happened to my dog i used to have more then likely there pad on there paw or they pulled a muscle u never kno wat these dogs get into :16suspect1:

I had a good couple of days... 20 doves and 4 pigeons total so far. I wouldve limited out yesterday but I ran out of shells (only took one box). Yesterday was 12 doves and 1 pigeon.

Tuesday night me and a buddy shot 25. Then last night me and another buddy shot 15. Leo has 40 retrieves on the newly opened seasoN! Well actually about 43 because a few blackbirds got in the way! :mischeif: Last nights hunt was fun, it took place in a knee deep swamp! There was an old dead tree they like to sit on. So I took my mojo and put it in the tree and it was on! Was a fun night!
