After watching last nights game, are they for real.

Davis from Clemson has impressed the last 2 games.

Their actually playing hard.

Quin didn't look too bad. Andeson looked prety good as well.

Defensive secondary looked pretty good.

The special teams...2 games in a row, played very good football.

So....are they for real?;)

Pre-season don't mean anything. The Lions were perfect in the preseason last year and ya all know what happened next.

But, But Steve...they looked pretty good.....:mischeif::D

We all know how the pre-season generally isn't an indication of how they will play in the regular season...but there "may" have been some glimmer of hope?:16suspect1::biggrin:

Time will tell..........

True. But the Browns were 0-fer last pre-season, and we know what happened to them, too.
I wouldn't say pre-season means nothing. I just say that it counts for nothing (obviously). But I have to believe that these wins build some confidence going into the season.

I thought they looked good, too. Let's hope they can keep building on what they've done. I'm just glad the injuries aren't killing them this year.

Lets be fair here... the Browns only took the lead after the Titans had their 3rd string in... just like us Bengals fans... you aint leaving the cellar anytime soon.

The Browns need to lease The Stadium to some non residents for seagull hunting.

Sadly I have to agree with ya while hoping the Browns surprise me when I get home and hear the score

I don't think it matters who is the starting QB...they are both going to have to play well because they will both be needed. The O-line play is the key to either QB playing well, along with the running backs Lewis and Davis (Jamaal has taken Davis under his wing, that's a big plus for the rookie and the team). Just not sure we have the depth at O-line should someone go down early in the season. Obviously, the defense has to play better and I think they can. Our return team is always exciting...the Browns have to play disciplined football and win the penalty phase of the game to have any chance to compete.

With that, go Browns ... lifelong fan always rooting for you

I had fun at the stadium last nite. They did look decent. Defense played better. Special teams looked strong. Running game non existent. Pre season doesn't mean much. Go Browns. ;)

After watching most of the game yesterday against the Broncos, the Browns are competing with the Lions for infamy. Not many positives...

Looking at the schedule after the first two games I dont see a game we can win. I thought denver was a going to give us a good shot. No freakin offense. I could rant about this all day. Another "Program" with a new coach starting from the blocks. Drives me crazy. Brady Quinn reminds me of charlie frye.

I'll stop there, my head is beginning to hurt. GO BROWNS! :dizzy:

Combination of pretty good D for the Browns and really bad offense form the Steelers followed by a terrible punt gives the Browns the ball at midfield with 10 min left in the 2nd.

Not sure if Browns are looking good or Steelers are looking that bad.

OH-MY...Browns won another game yesterday, so we have a 2 game winning streak going!!!

Harrison has 286 yards rushing, and Cribbs had 2 more TD returns, both are records!!!

Harrison places third(1st in Browns hsitory beating out Jim Browns previous record) in the league with that effort and Cribbs has the new NFL record with 8 returned for touchdowns...wow!!!

Yeah, the Browns are TERRIBLE. Yet, they just produced the #3 all time single game rushing performance. It was also done by their backup running back. The regular starter was Jamal Lewis who owns the #1 all time single game rushing record. Talk about odd.

Cribbs is a beast!!!!

Well, they did it. I say, keep Mangini. I think he deserves at least another year. With all of the injuries they had to work through, I don't know if any coach could achieve a winning record. Look at the roster of game 1 compared to game 16. Quite a change. IMO, he's earned at least one more year. Yeah, his wins were against teams that are all headed for the off-season, but the progress they made says something for the coaching.

Looks like I wasn't too far off in my August prediction. I think Mangeni saved his job by going 4-0 to complete the season. Next year I think it will be a wild card potential of 9-7.

I really thought Holmgren would let Mangenious go...shows what I know. I did see improvement with the Browns play the last half dozen games.

Cribbs contract is up is it not?

Its not up. I believe he has 3 or 4 years left at around $900,000 a year. He wants a raise because his numbers are outstanding and he is proving himself to be one of the leagues best talents. The browns just offered him 1.4 a year on a new contract and cribbs agent is laughing at them. He's already said he's done with the browns because its "unfair" and he has cleaned out his locker. He'll demand a trade very soon if the browns dont come up with a better offer.

They have to pay the man already or it will be another embarrassment in cleveland sports history. He has more than proved himself

Using some business sense,,,,since the Browns have very little investment in Cribbs I wonder what they would obtain for him in a trade possibility?

Perhaps it's time to shop him out to see what his true value is.

Ok...I agree he's worth more than they're offering in comparison to other salaries. Definitely an exciting versatile player...hate to see the Browns lose him :nono:

I say don't release him and he can park his behind on the couch and watch the games on tv. Tired of the bs from these so called athletes.

Thats smart thinking for a re-building franchise. How many draft picks can we get for him?

Keeping Mangini for at least another year is really smart. He has completely different philosophy from Holmgren so if it works out.....Holmgren was smart for being open-minded. If it doesnt, he can fire him and cite "difference of philosophies" and "we're going in a different direction" and then he'll bring in one of his guys that fall under the Walsh coaching tree.

If you really look at how this team improved especially in regard to things like turn overs, penalties and personal fouls they went from nearly worst to nearly best. That's speaks VOLUMES to the discipline he added to the team. Plus, he made the end of the year turn around with very little talent. Only downside to end of year perfomance was that they only beat 1 winning team. However, Mangini can say he is undefeated at home against the Steelers.

Cribbs is the highest paid special teams player in the NFL. His other contributions were minimal(only 300 some rush yards and 135 rec yards or something and 2 TD's). Now, he wants big boy money. I love his heart and the way he plays. However, he sighned the contract and the Browns did offer to renew his salary with a significant raise which they didnt have to do at all. If that isn't good enough, he can sit for all I care.

Oh yeah, I think the Browns have 11 picks in this year's draft. I think they can add some depth at a few positions. However, I don't see a franchise QB in this draft. They're going to need a QB as they don't currently have a answer at that position. I like Pennington as a guy to at least get them by for a year or two. His shoulder injury was not the same one that had been surgically repaired twice so he should be good to go for mini camps. Get in him or another verteran and let's get this thing going.

Cribbs was quarterback at KSU after Charlie Frye. He was very lucky to even get drafted let alone make the team as a kick returner. And he got a 6 yr contract but a low salary. He developed as a player while a Brown. Now he wants out of a 6 year contract.
You just cant let guys under long contracts renogotiate after a good year or two or
Cribbs had a choice when he signed, he could have gone for a 1 or two year contract to begin with. On the other hand, you get stuck with a guy like Jamal Lewis at a very high salary who never did produce for them. and a half empty stadium does not pay the bill.
