Has got to be the most worthless item I've ever bought. I knew better when I ordered some, but that was all 3Rivers had.
I swear if you put ANY resitance on that tip the damn glue will fail and the insert will slip.

I take it I'm the only guy who's used it?
Never tried it but would have clicked on a Cheetos option if one had been given.:D

The shop I worked at uses PowerBond, and it was the BEST insert glue I have used.
Saw many thousands of arrows go out of that shop, and none come back with inserts missing.
Also, we never cleaned the inside of the shaft, just cut and glue. And, we would let the customers shoot their arrows immediately after finishing glueing the inserts!!
I would think you have a bad batch of glue or the inside of the shaft has something unusual on it, that won't allow the glue to bond to it.
Good luck, hope you find out what is the problem.

I wonder if it's the brass inserts that are the problem?

Brass itself should not cause a problem. I would try cleaning the inserts and inside of shaft with a solvent, i.e. acetone, denatured alcohol, etc. and see what happens. Some guys rough up the inside of the shaft with a "clean" barrel brush, one that is a close fit.
If none of that seems to help, a bad/old batch of glue would be the suspect.
I've used various super glues on inserts and have never had a problem with any of them failing. There are some of the household glue companies selling there mixture with a so-called rubber compound in them, that makes the bond less brittle. Gorilla and LocTite both make good products. Go with the thicker or gel types for the best results,if you can find any locally.

I've used this stuff a couple of times and had the same problems. The only reason I bought it this time was because it's all they had.
I'm betting it's the brass. It's more dense and probably not as coarse as an alumiumn insert. I may try roughing up the next 1/2 dozen inserts and see how much longer they last.
