Ok, I officially have the fever to hunt. I have been shooting the last two weeks and went scouting last night and am very impressed for what I seen.

20 yards from the truck, 2 all ohio bucks possibly two booners. They were both 4 to 5 inches past its ears with about 8 in. brow(sp?) tines. Now that I have the bow shooting well this year and am back in the swing of things, I need to choose a broadhead.

I must have an arrow that will allow me to shoot as close to the feild tip precision and still have enough cutting and force to ensure with a good hit I wont have a problem finding one of these monsters. I am shooting 125 grain tips and aluminum arrows (plan on changing over to carbon either soon, or next season)

If it helps, I'm shooting a Hoyt Heat with a 60 pound draw.

Any and all suggestions are helpful and wanted!

Monotech G5s are the best on the market in my book. these are fixed blades, all one peice, nothing to move around.

It doesn't really matter what you shoot, any broadhead will fly if your bow is tuned...

I think we set the record for broadhead related threads in one week! :yikes: :dizzy:

Let me give you a little advice. Asking what broadheads you should use on a hunting forum will get you nothing but opinions and a bunch of them. It will not help you make the decision, at least it wouldn't help me. Any broadhead on the market will fly well out of a properly tuned bow and they will all kill deer. After that, it is all personal preference. Maybe you think Jay Gregory is the best hunter on TV, so you want to shoot Rages. Nothing wrong with that, I shoot Rages and love them. Maybe a buddy told you about Slick Tricks and he thinks you should shoot them. Again, nothing wrong with that because Slick Tricks are a great head from what I have seen and heard. It boils down to shooting what you want. Do some research on the web and pick a head and go with. The more deer you kill and the more you get involved in the sport, the more you'll learn about broadheads and you might change brands. We can give you our opinion, but at the end of the day, you have to make the choice for yourself...

1023 is right, you have to find the one you like. no matter which broadhead you shoot somebody will tell you they're junk. you need to find what fits your setup. lighter isn't always better. make sure you have enough weight to push through those big bruisers. good hunting brother.
