Rabbit hunters...

Anyone been out recently? My buddy and I are going to get the dogs out Thursday morning and hopefully we'll kick up a few.

We've got alot of bunnies this year ,had some real good hunts.The dogs have been doin all the work this year.We haven't had to jump many of the rabbitts ourselves....Good luck

Now that is some good rabbit hunting! I wish I could get my dog to run like that. She still doesn't really get it and that is mostly my fault becuase I have not had her out as much as I should. She at times has acted like a fool running squirrels, deer, or whatever. My buddy has a bassett hound that does ok, but if he would get a beagle(he might when he buys a house), then we could get a little more tag team work going. I hope we kick up a few Thursday, but mostly I just need to get her out more.

The fields we hunt were flooded and have iced over. We got the dogs on 5 rabbits but no shots. My buddy saw one cut into the woods but it was too far for a shot. I hate when it rains in the fall and winter!!!! I wish that we would just have drought conditions from mid August until spring thaw! Well, a little snow in the winter never hurt, but all this rain stinks. It has messed up a lot of good fall fishing and my rabbit hunting. Although, I can't really blame my deer hunting follys on the rain as I had some decent weather to hunt the rut and got a couple good ops at some good bucks. That was all on me, but this rain has messed up everything else!
