Hi I am hoping someone on here can help me. I am looking to get a new scope for my dad for his crossbow. I have narrowed it down to a few choices: Tenpoint 3x multiline mini scope, excalibur vari zone scope, parker crossbow red hot multireticle, truglo 4x32 scope, or the barska 4x32 compact contour scope. If anyone knows what owuld be the better option or any other ideas all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

I have a vari-zone and like it. The aiming point for 10 yards is where the crosshair goes from thick to thin. At 20 yards is the horizontal crosshair. At 30 and 40 they are triangles on the vertical crosshair. I don't like this much. I think that is because I'm so used to crosshairs and triangles are something different.

I think the less magnification the better. I have a slow crossbow so the vari-zone uses the least amount of magnification.

I don't know anything about the other scopes, but I'd take 3x over 4x if the scopes were of the same quality.

Try asking at the ArcheryTalk.com crossbow forum or at CrossbowNation.com. They get a lot more traffic.

I have just a plain old single red dot scope on one of my hortons and on one of the others, I have a simmons multi reticle scope. I love the red dot because I have it sighted in at 25 yards and anything inside of 25 I aim a little low. At 35 yards I aim a little high. I guess when I use the scope, given the situations, I dont like have all those lines in my view. Thats probably just me though.
