The wife and I were volunteers with Lifeline of Ohio at the Dash for Donation in downtown Columbus yesterday. We left the house at 5:00 am to get there by 6:45 am. Two of our daughters and three of the grandkids participated in the events. There were over 2000 event entrys and about as many supporters there. I usually shy away from crowds anymore but not when these folks are involved. We got back home about 1 pm some tired folks! Great event and a fun day :)

My two daughters and oldest granddaughter tried their first 1/2 marathon (13 miles) and finished first in their respective age groups! The two younger kids did the 1K fun walk plus the kids dash and walked all over the Arena district with grandpa. All the little ones got medals.

That's a good looking crew! I need to become motivated enough again to ready myself for a 5k.

Sounds like a really fun time. That's awesome about your daughters/ granddaughter's finishes! What an accomplishment. I did my first 5k this summer w/ my son. Kinda got me turned on to running. Planning to do another in October.
