Does anybody have the Leupold VARI-X III 3.5-10x50 ILL Recticle on one of their calling rifles? I have been thinking on this scope for my Rem 700 I have been working on. Id really like to know if they are worth the $$$$. I haven't been doing any nite calling because I just can't see the cross hairs. I am really thinking on ordering one of these.

Here are the info on the scope.

You may want to try one of the scope mounted lights. Even with an illuminated reticle, you still won't be able to see the target in the dark. I'm not sure that you still won't have a problem with the light though. I've seen something advertised that you clip on to an existing scope that creates illuminated cross hairs. I'll look for the name. Might be a cheaper option. Have you tried a shotgun? Around here, predator calling at night is a close range game.

I have several different scope mounted lights. Bit I still have trouble seeing the cross hairs.

you can see in my avatar picture a light mounted on my scope. That picture is from 1990. I was younger and had better eyes.

Looks like it may work.

Sorry, that's from the UK, but it still has a good picture of it. The prices in the US seem to be about $13. Sounds a little too cheap, but it's probably worth a shot. Your not out much if you don't like it.

Just ordered one from Cabela's

Site-Pro Crosshair Illuminator
Item number: XD - 710061
$12.99

After shipping charges - $16.94

I'll give it a try before I spend $600 + for the scope.
thanks
