I got the savage bolt slug gun this year and put a bushnell 3200 on it. I was absolutly amazed at how accurate this thing is. The action is also very smooth. Plus I didn't have to screw around with plugs.
I had one group off a rest that were touching. Any of you guys use bolt slug guns.
On a side note I'm thinking of getting the Tikka rifle. Any reports out there on these.

I was thinking about getting a muzzle loader but I am not sure if I really want to. I become less and less interested in gun season with each passing year. If I get access to some good private land then I will seriously consider it.

I'd considered getting one of the Savage bolt-action slug guns, but unfortuantely they don't offer it in a 20ga. I'm getting to the point that I despise shooting my 12ga with slugs because of the punishment it deals out, which is why this year I used my ML for the shotgun season.
Try a Sims Vibration Lab recoil pad on the 12ga, it may help.

One of the guys I hunted with last year had a Savage bolt slug gun and it was pretty impressive. Real nice shooter.
