If Star works hard and then lies down, she gets up favoring her rear left leg, except today when it was the right rear leg. I've had 4 different vets check her and even had her to an orthopedist in Canton, OH. None detected a major problem other than a slight arthritis the orthopedist noted in her x-rays. She will not be 3 years old until Christmas Eve. Her birthday is the story behind the name Star.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I think I'll check the vet to see if there is something that I can give her to ease any pain when this flares up.

My dad's dog will have problems like that sometimes as well as mine on less frequent occasions. We've had the vet look at his also and not find anything unusual. At this point I kind of look at them like you would a football player. They run 2-3 miles for every one we walk. If we hunt a dog 3.5+ hrs over the course of a day they're doing to get a little beat up and sore. As far as pain meds they told me to give mine non-buffered asprin on those occasions.

Thank you Lance,
I was looking over Star's health records and saw were our vet also recommended asprin, but I thought it was buffered. I'll give him a call. She was holding that foot up last night and bouncing around pretty good today. I spend more time worrying about her health than my own.
