going catfishin at gmr

im going catfishing below the dam in hamilton just wondering what to expect. im mainly going for shovelhead and blues. any tips on bait

For blue cat fish i would use cut bait like big shad or skipjack herring. For shovle heads they only eat live bait so i would go to a bait shop and get gold fish. Hook the gold fish threw the meaty part of the tail and they will last for a long time.
