Grouse Hunters

Anybody been grousing? I've been out twice with good dogs, but I still haven't seen a grouse in OH this season. It's getting more difficult to justify grouse hunting when you can get several good points / flushes on pheasants...

I haven't gotten out on grouse yet, I focussed on trying to hit the woodcock as they were coming through and getting a few pheasants so the dogs would still get wild bird work on the doodles coupled with getting some birds that I can actually hit over my dogs. We had a downright brutal year last year also, I'm currently deer hunting my best grouse spot, hope to get an idea of what I can expect with the dogs after hunting this weekend. sure hope it's no worse than last year. :(
