Shooting clays Get Together

Some of the guys from "Show Us Your Guns" fourm want to have a get together at my place for a day of shooting clays. I figured the fair way to do this is anyone interested pick a date on the weekend in July and August. I will see what are the most popular dates and let everyone know.
We can shoot clays, fish, shoot bows, you can hike and sit around to shoot the bull and put a face with a name.
Figure if you can bring a cover dish with something to share and maybe some clays to throw into the kitty it would be a great time.
You can come and go, camp out here at my place and stay over night, we have lots of room.
I live ibn Ashtabula, Ohio ( Ashtabula County ) about 50 miles east of Cleveland, 50 miles North of Youngstown or 40 miles west of Erie, PA.

As I said before...any...

I make my own schedule so if I know ahead of time there shouldn't be issue. I usually work on Saturday but can make arrangements with little hassle.

Date for the outing at riverdudes..........

Ok how is this, July 25th is the event and then if anyone wants to camp over they are more then welcome. If the weather looks bad we can reschedule for August 01, and you can camp out overnight as well Saturday. I will watch the weather and advise if we should reschedule by Thursday or Friday morning of July 23'rd or 24th.

We will have a row boat and canoe available to fish from, you can walk the shore line to fish, Shooting Clays pigeons, pistol and gun range, shooting bow, hiking, bring a friend, a campfire, shoot the bull, maybe 45 will play a few tunes on his Git-tar, camping and all kinds of fun events.

Thinking that we all can bring a covered dish, bring your own beverages ( adult beverages after all events please if you wish ). Lets have some fun and I hope you all can make it.

Please advise if you can so we can get a good head count.

Afternoon Vvarmitr. I hope you can make it.
To answer your questions:
1. Rifle rage is not all that long, 47 yards. We use it mostly for handguns but have shot large Cal. guns, muzzle loaders, AK's and such.
2. Gun restrictions? None that I can think of.
3. You can bring your wife and kids, we just need to make sure people are not down below from where we are shooting.
4. Can't think of any other ground rules to add at this point. Just want it to be a safe enjoyable day for everyone. :D

If I do I'll probably bring my ar with the 22 upper, I know someone was asking about how I liked it on the show us your guns thread. I'd also like the chance to possibly check out some auto handguns to help me decide what I'd like to buy. And It'd be nice to put some faces with names, I know I don't post much but I read this forum every day.

I'm bring my Do-All double trap. It'll throw about any type of target about any way you can think of. I'm bringing a box each of minis, midis and rabbits. If anyone that wants to shoot clays could bring a box of regular targets well have lots targets.

If you've never shot the other types of targets it's lots of fun, minis are VERY fast and rabbits are really hard to hit because they bonce. Probably be best if the shells you bring are #7 1/2 or smaller.

I'm also planning on bringing some double guns and my Win 97 for you guys to try if you've never shot guns like them before.

I shoot a Browing Mirage 6T6 Compound with an Overdraw. When I bought it it was the top of line but that was probably 13 years ago at least. I shoot Easton Superflight A/C/C arrows. It is still a super bow, shoots fast. Only draw back is the weight, really heavy compared to bows now a days.

I use to shoot Onieda's, loved them but I did not care to work on em. :D

Oh Cuzin, a week ago they had a big Shing Ding on bridge street with venders selling beach glass. They had around 4,000 people show up between Saturday and Sunday.

If I knew when I would be home I would have yens stop out. Not sure how my day is going to go and where I wil be.

Tomorrow I'm driving over 3 hours to Findlay for my daughter and a friend to shoot trap. I've had two trips to Marango to the Cardinal Center, almost 3 hours in the last 5 weeks. In those 3 trips(about 900 miles total) I never get to fire one round:( But it was worth it:D

It is a great facility, I've been there twice this summer. Hopefully the Grand American will return to Ohio soon. The second time I was there they announced they had opened the walk through archery range. I didn't get a chance to check it out but a couple of my friends did and they were impressed. Gotta take the bow the next time we go.:D

Saturday we were at Jaqua's in Findlay. All I can say about their shop is WOW! You have to walk through a bank vault door to get in the gun room, and guns worth $10-15,000 just sitting on the shelf for you to pick up and look at:dizzy:

I don't know, CJ was pretty far away when I took that photo of him on the pontoon boat, he told me he was checking it out to make sure the batteries were fully charged and working properly. His pole looked bent over numerous times and the boat smelled of Johnson spoon pork rynes, fish and I found a rubber worm on the steps going down to the dock. :mischeif: :D

You can come up Friday night if you like. Pitch a tent or camper. Saturday I said noon to shoot, show up at 9:00 but if everyone shows up early we can shoot when ever. Of course if you want to come Friday you can fish, shoot at the target range, hike and we can have a little fire and shoot the breeze.
Anyone that wants to come Friday is Welcome. :D

My brother and I hunted Grand Valley maybe 10 years ago and we were really dissipointed in the hunt. They had piles of straw all around and that is where the birds were. How was your hunt? I hope they changed.

Date for the outing at riverdudes..........

Ok how is this, July 25th is the event and then if anyone wants to camp over they are more then welcome. If the weather looks bad we can reschedule for August 01, and you can camp out overnight as well Saturday. I will watch the weather and advise if we should reschedule by Thursday or Friday morning of July 23'rd or 24th.

We will have a row boat and canoe available to fish from, you can walk the shore line to fish, Shooting Clays pigeons, pistol and gun range, shooting bow, hiking, bring a friend, a campfire, shoot the bull, maybe 45 will play a few tunes on his Git-tar, camping and all kinds of fun events.

Thinking that we all can bring a covered dish, bring your own beverages ( adult beverages after all events please if you wish ). Lets have some fun and I hope you all can make it.

Please advise if you can so we can get a good head count.

Sorry Riverdude, my official response is a sad no. Work has been terrible this week (sitting on 15 1/2 hours for 3 days) and I've already signed my loan papers counting on 40 hour weeks. I got an offer to do a tile job down in Newark on Sat so that's where I will be.
