Can the Vermilion river be floated with a drift boat? Anywhere from 80 on up or down depending how you look at it.
Not sure if there is private property which can't be floated.

I have floated the Vermilion River many times, mostly in a canoe, but a couple of times in an inflatable. Most of the time we start in Birmingham and float to either Mill Hollow park or all the way to downtown Vermilion. We have also started at Mill Hollow and floated to Lake Erie. Depending on the water levels the Birmingham to Vermilion trip takes 3-6 hours. We park a car at our landing point and then take another car to our drop off. During the summer there will be some areas you will need to carry a canoe for a few feet, but it's a fun trip. Early trips offer some pretty decent smallie fishing along the way too.

Thanks Bill. I may have to pull out the inflatable pontoon boat. Sounds like a drifter won't make it.

Depends on how far up river you start. If you started at Mill Hollow and went to the lake, you would probably OK, but you'd be looking at a short trip.

That looks like it would be around 3 miles from Mill to the mouth. I wonder if it is floatable from Schoepfle Garden, Gore or Peasley to the mouth. Plus I wonder if anyone would car spot.
