When these come on the market I'm getting one (after three or four years so all the bugs are worked out first)!

Is it a proto type ? Who makes it?

The only problem I see is the bottom looks like fiberglass... Not to good over rocks and tree trunks...
Looks like the perfect mix for light ATV use and water toy... Cool. :D

Probably made in China, and PeP Boys is salivating over the new pieces of junk.
Chinese cycles, atv's, generators, lawn mower engines have an expeced lifetime of one week or less.

The National Safety Council would make the FCC ax the commercial since not everyone was wearing a life vest. The State of Ohio would love to make you buy a watercraft license and an ATV plate. and they look a little to big to fit in an 8' truck bed. I hate ATV's when they are bigger than a JEEP.

I saw this just over a year ago. I think Yamaha developed it.
Pretty cool, bet it has a pretty price tag on it as well. :(

I won't go in the water after the belly gets cracked from a log, stick or rock...
Looks cool though. Bet it weighs a ton...

Did some checking, its not $40,000.00. It is made by Gibbs Technology, hits 50 MPH on land and 50 MPH on water. $16,000.00 and it's yours. :dizzy:

Amphibious technology has been around for quite a long time, dating back to the propeller-powered Amphicar of the 1960s, but never before has there been a swimming vehicle that could compete with singular-purpose vehicles. Along came a British company called Gibbs with the intention to blow the competitors out of the water… literally.
$100 million in development and 60+ patents later, Gibbs technologies has proudly announced it’s third foray into the amphibious world with the intensely personal Quadski. Half-quad, half-jetski, all James Bond, the most significant feature is speed. It has the ability to blur the landscape at speeds exceeding 50 mph on both land and water.

More images after the jump.
What this means to you: With the ability to convert from land-mode to water-mode in about 5 seconds, you’ll never miss a change to make waves, on whatever terrain you choose. Maybe that’s why we hear they just landed a military contract.
Price: $16,000 (estimated) @ Gibbs (http://www.gibbstech.co.uk/mediacentre/quadski.php)

I should have known not to take a youtube commentator on their word... LOL

I always said if you want to see the future of America just go spend an hour reading comments on youtube... You'll be depressed for a month...

LOL Jack! Your hit the nail on the head with that statement.
Looks cool but I doubt it can take the abuse in the woods. Wait until a stick / log comes up and puts a hole in fiberglass. I noticed you do not see them on trails ( like in the woods ), it was wide open tracks like a quad racing track.
That thing must weigh a ton and it look reall wide. Uh, just like my ex wife! :mischeif:

$16,000 is pretty steep but that would be the ultimate Erie ice fishing rig. I wonder what the payload is??
