Next weekend, June 19th through the 21st in Berrien Springs, Michigan is the annual Comptons Rendezvous. It would be a GREAT time to have the opportunity to shoot several bows by well known bowyers, as well as "rub shoulders" with the "who's who" in traditional archery.

My wife and I are heading up early Friday morning, and coming back home on Sunday. I have never been before, but from everything that I hear it should be a load of fun. Gonna meet a few fella's that I've been talking to and shoot a round or two on their courses up there.

If anyone is interested, I will post a link with some information about it.

Can't make it that weekend, prior obligations. Sounds like a good time though. Let us know how your weekend goes Winterhawk!

The Compton shoot is fun, but not in the same class as some of the other big shoots IMO. All the big shoots are different and focus on different things.
Cloverdale focuses on setting a superior course, Denton Hill focuses on lots of shooting oportunities, and Compton focuses on the "social" aspect a bit more. All are fun, all are different. Compton does seem to draw a few more vendors than some of the other shoots though.

I have "rubbed shoulders" with some of the Who's who in traditional archery before. I generally come away from the experience with a sore shoulder and nothing else.
