Hi all:
My favorite rods for pier salmon fishing is an 11 foot Cabela's brand. One is rated as 1 1/2 pound test curve, and the other rated at 2 1/4 pound test curve. Flexing them on the floor they feel like a medium-light and the other a medium power rod. I like the m-l one a lot more, and seldom use the other.
Can someone please tell me where these spec's come from? Is it something like X amount of weight on the end of the rod causes Y amount of rod curvature, or what?
