I waited to post this here until I knew for sure how things were going to work out. After two weeks of viewings and negotiations, we heard back from the seller that the house was ours for the taking. Our attornery is working on a sales contract at this moment and my banker is finalizing the numbers. Looks like we might close sometime after the 4th of July. That means I won't have a mortgage payment until September!

I'll get some better pics up after we close, but here are a few I took when we saw it for the second time. Here is the run down: It was built in 1964 by the father of the seller who has lived there her whole like. The basement is mostly finished making it around 1,800 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 1 bath. The kitchen is amazing and only 18 months old. The hardwood floors throughout the upstairs were sanding and refinished and the carpet down stairs was cleaned last year. The roof is 7 years old with 30-year deminsionals. The garage is big enough for two vehicles. We have a .73 acre lot that runs from from the county road my parents live on to the two-lane state highway behind us. I will live 3/4 of mile from my best hunting grounds and across a little lane from the new grocery store/gas station. (Beer store )!!!

Sweet man. When can I come take a dip in your pool, or didn't that come with the house ;)

Very nice place, congratulations! Enjoy the "Man Room" while you can. And look at installing your own bathroom!

We are probably going to build a master suite before we sell it...

We had plans to find a 5-year flipper house and then we saw this one. This place is perfect for us and we can start a family here. The goal has changed and we will stay here until we can buy 30+ acres and build. If that is 5 years or 15, we'll hang in there.

The immediate plans will be to paint the bathroom and master bedroom. I also have some light drywall work to do to fix an imperfection in the bathroom that will annoy me. After we move it, I'll install a ceiling fan in the living room and we'll paint the other two room upstairs. From there, I plan to finish the garage off nicely so I have a place to store things and to stage projects. After that, we have some big projects in mind. But those will be a couple years down the road. Plenty to do that will make this place sell itself next time around and hopefully make us some money in the process...

Well the good Lord works in mysterious ways. After two weeks of ridiculous games that would fill your computer screen, I found out from our attorney today that we were supposedly under land contract with them. Come to find out, she land contracted it to the renters out from under us with out telling us. This was during the time we were to meet and sign the sales contract that was completed and in my hands. How's that for low?

Back to square one...

That sounds lower than a snakes belly :irked:

Sorry about that 1023, as you say maybe that's the way it's supposed to be.
