Ohio hogs

The old timer that owns my honey hole was curious about hog hunting in OHIO. Are there any counties down south that have a decent hog population where a hunting trip would be justified?

Mabye there are more than you all think?

my land owner tried to ask on official on the ODNR website and I'm not sure if the guy understood his question cause all he got was the run around. So I just figured if there was anyone who answer his question, they would be on here.

I have been huntnig OHIO since i was 14 years old and i have never seen a wild hog in OHIO except those on perserves so i would have to say not to justify a hog hunt unless you want to pay for them but i could be wrong though.I have hunted from north to central to southern ohio also but if you do happen to find any wild hogs In OHIO let me know i got a few buddies that would love to help you out.

I have posted this before......I mentioned wild pig hog hunting at my in-laws who live near Albany east of athens a bit. I just about got laughed out of the house. It is just rumors.

I have offered my game camera to many guys on this site and others who claim to know were wild pigs are in ohio. I have had no takers. Save you money an go to north carolina or texas.

UGH, I reported the news or lack of news to my landowner, and he still belives that ther are hogs in ohio. He always gives mention to the hunting reg booklet citing an open season on hogs. I was thinking to myself as he was telling me this, that reg is there to keep the hogs from infiltrating the state. simply said they dont want them here,and if u do see one, shoot it before it leads to more.
