While i was out this morning doing a little scouting and maybe jump a rabbit,I seen my second coyote. This one i could have shot with no problem.I jumped it out of the den and it ran about 20 yards from me and stopped. It never did see me until i moved. I only had #7.5 shot with me and i know that wouldnt do. If i did shot it, what are you supposed to do. Do you tag it or what. I certainly dont want to keep it. Are you allowed to let it lay. Any help would be appreciated. Maybe next time i go i will bring some bigger shot to kill it. I know where it living now. Its living under a big boulder.

you can let it lay, or u can mount it. i got one a year ago and had it full bodied, open jaw mounted chasing a rabbit. will look pretty sweet in my cabin some day.

I dont want to be mr. game law,but I think you are supposed to "recover" all game harvested, all though I find a couple a year people just let lay.

You can find a list of furbuyers in your county, and sell the coyote whole, wont fetch as much, skinned out.

You dont need a tag or anything for coyotes, but for fox, beaver, coon, possum, skunk, you need the furtaker permit to harvets them-it's 11$:D

I know a few years ago there were bounties on coyote & may still be in Jefferson County. Call the Dog Warden. If nothing else see a fur buyer. Coyotes are classified as varmints & aren't to be collected & eaten.
You can go back to the Boulder, but your coyote won't be there.
If it happens to have mange or something don't touch it just let it lay.

I keep 'em and skin 'em. Otherwise, leave 'em where they lay.

Oh yeah...don't forget to take a pic so we can see too!!!!!!!!
