Shot weight vs Volume

I realize that my MEC loader measures shot by volume and there is a difference when you change shot size.. My 3/4 oz. bar only puts out 11/16 oz. of #6 in a 28 gauge load. My 12 gauge loader puts out just a little over 1 oz of #5 with the 1 1/8 oz. bar.

What difference does this make in pressure and would it be higher or lower?

I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you wanted to you could get other shot bushings for the larger shot. You could also weigh the load it is dropping and see how many more it would take to bring it up to the witght you want. It would only be a couple shot, since we are talking about the larger sizes. Then you could just drop that many more in the load before you crimp it.
