It's time to give back a little to the rivers we enjoy so much and the steelhead that call them home. The links below give the times and dates.

Unfortunately I don't have wheels at this time but whenever where ever I fish I try to make it a point to pick up any trash I can carry, aside from summit lake I would need a thousand municipal truck for that and sadly its almost pointless! Do to its location and shall we say "neighbors" there is just noway to keep up with the amount of trash thrown around there its a damn shame too, as polluted as it is the fishing is pretty good! Hell it held gators!!!

WOW! The connie sure looks nice when it greens up around it. I only see it when everythings dead/dying. lol
These rivers need our help to keep them clean. If you fish these rivers you owe it to yourself to help, whether it's hitting the organized clean-ups like this or packing out a little trash with when your fishing. I always try to remember to keep a plastic bag in my vest when I fish.
PS, Mike check the Grand river link out. It's to the Grand River in Ontario. ;)

I agree. I also try to pick up whatever I can. It's unfortunate that, to so many people, littering seems like just another "harmless" (?) habit, like biting fingernails. I once contacted someone w/ the RR metroparks about getting a trash recipticle in a certain location. His response was that they tried, in the past, to keep a can there, in that place. But the rangers ended up finding the trash cans thrown in the river, or burned out by some moron who thought it would be cute to light the trash on fire. I agree, it is a shame and does seem pointless. But, personally, I do get gratification knowing that, at least I did something to make the river a better place to visit.
(Lance, OOPS! I was in a hurry to find the appropriate links. Guess I should've looked closer.)
