Guys, I have Hip Certification on my hunting license. What exactly is it, when do you need it, and why is ODNR's Website so confusing? They always reference all these publications in the hunting regs book, but I can never seem to find those publications.
Thanks!!

HIP stands for Hunter Information Program. It's a federal survey of number migratory birds harvested and is required in all states. You need a HIP cert on your license if you intend to shoot migratory species such as doves ducks or woodcock. They should ask you a series of questions regarding your last years harvest when you get your license and HIP number.
As for the ODNR website it used to be a lot easier to use but they made changes this last year that make it a pain. The info's still there but tougher to access.
