something i thought might be fun...say you are traveling to another area of our state...and see a place that is kind of interesting...take a pic of it and if somebuddy else lives close to there they can respond...just a way of learning about others and their part of the state they come from...just a thought...
heres a pic i got today...and i was wondering if anyone from here lives close to this area of gigantic open areas with small patches of woods...i must admit i wonder what its like to hunt there...with miles of corn fields or whatever is grown there...heh heh heh...perfect pic for me too...:D

Thats about 1/2 way between Marion and Upper Sandusky on 23 Northbound side of the road. I have been through there many times. I hunt pretty much the same type of ground and it works for me :).

Coonie,

I know that area fairly well as I grew up in Marion. Killdeer Wildlife Area and Nature preserve is about 20 miles west of there. There are tons of deer in that area and some real big bucks. That's Wyandot county and if you scour the ODNR huntin pics for the past few years, you'll find a few big boys in there from that county. Mostly private land and tough to find a good spot to hunt. Killdeer will show ya one early, but after that they spook to the private lands and the preserve. That type of terrain can be tough to bow hunt. Scouting will show you things, but the trick is to get into your ambush spot undetected. It's tough. Gun hunters really like that type of hunting ground so long as the corn is off by gun season.

To be completely honest with you it is Hit and Miss. Some places seem to hold good sized groups of birds while others you won't find a single scratch anywhere on the property. I had a hunting spot that I could watch 20+ birds fly up and roost for the night almost every evening. Then another hunting spot 20 min. away I have only ever seen 5 birds. Both places had the same setup with crop fields, over grown pastures with chest high weeds, nice big mature trees and a good size river running through it.

Ohhh great...coonie has finally tired of looking in the mirror and now we're going to be forced to look at his mug and where ever he goes.

Lol, if I'm traveling for work this summer, this could be fun. Last summer I worked on projects in Easton, Portage Co (Randolph), Waldo, Ashley, Ashland, Plainsville, Delaware, Heath, St. Louisville, Danville, Bucyrus...just to name a quick few.

Coonie- you looking for pictures like this??? I am not in it and no signs but.... Anyone know where this is??? :D It's a toughy
