Just wondering if anyone has hunted The Power Lands, Blue Rock State Park or Avondale WA for turkeys in recent years?

Was thinking about doing some camping the last week of the season down that way. Does it get much hunting pressure? Thanks in advance.

I've hunted Avondale and more recently for the past couple of years I've been hunting the AEP lands. They both take some pressure. If you're looking to hunt the last week I don't think you'll have many problems with either place. Lots of birds on both properties. To me the Avondale was harder to hunt because of the land terrain. If I were going to camp for a week hunting I would choose AEP lands. I'ts close to Blue Rock and between the two there is LOTS of land to find a lone gobbler without another hunter messing it up for you.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I've never been to Avondale, what's so rough about the terrain? Too steep, too thick, ????

I'ts thick with alot of steep up and down terrain differences. It's all old strip mine land that was never put back as nice as the AEP grounds. If you pull a bird out of there you will have earned it. Theres more ground there than people realize. To find somewhere that no one else is around you need to do some walking. I used to live right on the edge of it. There are birds in there no doubt about that.
