Buy it,you'll like it. I bought mine in August of last year. Just took it out of the woods last week. From the start of Sept until the 1st week of April, I had over 1,300 pics.(Not too bad I thought for Allen County)

In that time I went thru 3 sets of "D" batteries. Get ya a good quality SD card,4 "D" batteries and less than a 5 minute set up time you're ready to go.

Got to chime in now...All Cuddeback's are garbage. I've had 3 different models over the past 5 years. None have performed like they advertise. Their customer service is a joke on top of it- no help at all. Get a Moultrie Game Spy I60. Great camera. Easy to set up. Good (not great) pics. Batteries last forever. I set mine up last May and ran it all summer on one set- over 1700 pics. Costs a lot less the cudde too. With that said I still think the trail camera business is still hit or miss. The technology and repeatability in making a good camera isn't there with any brand. Good luck with whatever you decide, skinner. ;)

Coonie, does the Cudde you are looking at have the infrared flash?

The IR flash will tend to spook deer less than the regular white flash.

I have a IR Moultrie I40 and and am pretty happy with it for what it costs. The I60, as mentioned above, is an upgrade but similiar.

Also, fyi, set the cam up facing up or down the trail instead of facing at right angles to it. You will get better pics.

I checked my Moultrie Outfitter a couple days ago and it still has 30% battery life and has captured over 4000 images and half of them were video's! I posted some images on the deer cam forum, if you want anymore info I'd be glad to share with you Skinner! I've had my cam out since the first week of Dec. and paid alot less than it would have cost for a Cuddy Capture and I'm very happy with the results. EASY TO SET UP AS WELL!!

BV....have the Moulrtie I50 infrared and tested it during that Jan cold spell late deer season. Takes great black & white at night and good colr during the day! Took 78 pics during the 3weeks I had it out and battery still read 92%! I was impressed. Wally world sells Ray o vac 6pack D size for $5.50! Duracells are 10.50:yikes:Infrared would be the only way to go on the Wayne;).....TF

Here`s a link on how to pick a trail camera.

At the bottom of the page, there`s a spot that you click on and it will take you to a selection guide. There, it will ask you questions about what your looking for in a trail camera. (IR or Incandescent flash, trigger speed, detection zones, etc...)

Sounds good to me as long as you can point me in the direction of where that camera picks up lots of activity....:whistle:

Actually, from what little I've seen, there can't be many bad spots out there...

I've got my Horton Xbow ready to go... I just need to get it sighted in now. I really wanted to get out there to do some scouting but couldn't make the time. My daughter is doing gymnastics and t-ball now.

Anyhow, I'll be ready come late October.

Make sure you set up some kind of bait pile so the deer will stop in front of the camera. You'll get a better picture that way.:D

i have decided there will be no camera:eek:...i don't want it associated with me and hunting with it,it wasn't going to be used for that purpose of helping me...it was to promote the camp...i guess if a guy needs pics to believe me...so i've decided against the camera...it was a bad idea from the start anyway, and :D:Da waste of my money...:D

The hard part is draggin em out of there... I need to bring a sled or something.. :)me thinks thats the main reason so many hate public land...no 4 wheelers allowed...:Da game cart would have worked well where you were, just be sure it has very good brakes!!!wait til i show you the easy way you could have dragged that deer out...a quarter of the distance and all down hill...

its obvious one of you never been where i hunt...the reason better than ninety percent hunt near the road must have something to do with the long drag...now this isn't trur during turk season i figure cause a turk weighs around 20# vs. a deer over 100#...its such a big area that even during gun season you see hardly another hunter once you get out there...in fact i havent seen one hunter out there since i started the deer camp(wn)bow or gun and that almost can be said when i've hunted even close to the road during archery season and 3/4 of the time during gun...and last year wendy and i hunted within 300/400 yds yds.from the camp...actually could see a guy shoveling his drive way...i had a gun and wendy her bow and three deer came well within range of my gunbut we didnt see another hunter the 2 days we hunted there...and bowhunter 4ever knows xactly where i was hunting, during gun season jack...and thats a fact jack...if 4 wheelers were allowed on the wayne where i hunt then it would truly be a madhouse...there would be no where one could go without ever seeing a hunter as i can do now...on the private land i have,i can not make that same statement...i see hunters on 4 wheelers all the time and hear them on the properties near ours...i see where sometimes they cross the line where its clearly marked...and a couple times i actually see them on our side climbing a tree...something i've never had a problem with far out on the wayne...
