No, I'm a Gator Fan. I said I grew up a Wolverine fan, but that was about 15 years ago I've been a Gator fan. :)
It doesn't matter anyways tho. All my teams are terrible except the Red Wings. The Tigers, Lions and Gators (Since Spurrier left) all suck. :eek:

fish,i sure hope that your prediction about osu is as good as your last one!!!!!!
miami hasn't played ANYONE like ohio state this year.my biggest concern is that they will throw against that Fox kid all night.
that being said,i still like osu's edge in the special teams department.miami has had several punts blocked this year.field position is gonna be a big factor.
tressel gets those kids ready for a game.

Bucks will win by the touchdown in the final 2 mins of the 4th qu arter.
It is going to be one heck of a game, and a close one. You have to remember, that OSU has a really strong defense, and it takes a good defense to win a game like that. Miami has let too many teams score too many points on them. If OSU can score the points and keep up the strong D we have got the game.

As always but the skin of there teeth. But the mistakes they make in the next game like all the others will hurt them with giving up a 7 points for each one. Which if they went by each mistake they are going to lose by at least 50 points in this coming game.:D

I do have taste, I'm here. I have friends that go to michigan and send me stuff and my wife was born there. I just have liked them for some time. Since I have lived in Ohio, OSU crap is just pushed onto the public's face so much that some of us just get sick of it. But just seeing how people react when I have a Michigan hat on is too funny. I have several different hats from different schools. Just whoever beats OSU is ok with me I guess. Just my opinion.:p

Well, being a long-time Gator fan, I have to disagree.
If Spurrier were still the coach, I'd say bring on anyone in the nation anytime, but now that Zook is the Coach, it's really sad.
He is about as bad as they come as a play caller. He's just terrible man. They have probably the best QB ever as a Sophomore with the greatest stats I've ever seen last year, now look at him.
I hope you're right and the Gators win, but I doubt it to tell you the truth.

Yep. You have to remember too that they got most of them wins in the Big Ten. I don't care what anyone says, the Big Ten is the most overrated Conference there is. SEC and Big 12 are the 2 best.
Just look at what all the Big Ten teams do in Bowl games against teams from other conferences. It ain't pretty. lol

Up North Board? I haven't been a Michigan fan for about 15 years now. (I can't honestly remember how many years exactly) Only grew up one because I'm from Michigan.

Fish...I agree about the Big Ten being the most overrated.
As for the Outhouse Bowl, it all depends on which team shows up to play. Personally, I think it will come down to two things: speed and QB play. Michigan doesn't have either on offense, and Florida does. Typically, U of M doesn't do well against speed oriented teams (last years Citrus Bowl against Tennesee as an example) and if it comes down to Michigan having to rely on their QB to win a game, then they're toast. John NaVarre couldn't win a game against East Jacksonville School of the Culinary Arts!
It's sad what Zook did to that offense, though. No more fun and gun...what would you call it now? Run is Fun? sad...what a waste of talent as far as Grossman is concerned. Maybe he'll end up with Spurrier in Washington? Still, Michigan is no where near as good as their record indicates...they're lucky they even made it to a bowl game. Take away a few breaks and they're 5-6. I love the Wolverines, but Florida should win easily. "Should" being the key word. Ol' Lloyd will have Michigan ready to play and maybe...just maybe...they might play up to their potential. Provided, that is, John NaVarre isn't under center! LOL!

You bring up some great key points I have always believed.
1. Speed Kills.
2. Speed Kills.
3. Speed Kills.
It doesn't matter how big you are. When you have defensive downlinemen that can run 4.6's, you have the upper hand.
The Big Ten has always gotten their asses handed to them on a platter because they do good in the Big Ten, but that doesn't mean you're ready to play with the big boys.
I see it as this-
#1- Miami (When you don't lose a game for 3 years, you're number one whether you're the best, which they aren't, or not)
#2- Oklahoma
#3-USC
#4-Georgia
#5- Tie between Iowa and OSU.
I don't think Miami is the best team, and OSU can beat them just as any team can beat anyone else on a given day, but no Big Ten team can run consistently with the big boys, and never has been able to, imo.
I hear about 7 out of the Big Ten makes it to the Bowl games. But look at how many have always lost in the past.
For the past twenty years, if 7 made it in the Bowl games, 5 of them would lose. Nothing to brag about if you ask me. ;)

I believe Grossman (last year) was the greatest sophomore ever in NCAA football, and Zook just killed him. Now the Offensive Line for the Gators is just terrible and Grossman gets killed.

No, I think it's just the opposite. I think OSU fans always cut down Michigan and the Wolverines because they have always beaten OSU twice as many times as OSU has beaten Michigan. :D:D
Besides, I would think it normal for any of the Wolverine fans to want OSU to lose no matter who wins that year.
Since Michigan has wiped the floor with the suckeyes for the last 15 years, I'm sure they still wanted OSU to lose the Bowl Games. :D :p :p

The last time 7 big ten teams made it to bowl games was 1999.
Five of them won.
In 1998, 5 teams went, all 5 won.
In the last 4 years the Big Ten is 15-9 in bowl games.....pretty inpressive if you ask me.:D

I'll have to do some research, but I'd have to bet that the Big Ten is above .500 all time in bowl games. If you'll remember, up until the early 70's big ten teams weren't allowed to go to any bowl game except the Rose Bowl. On top of that before then you weren't allowed to go to the Rose Bowl 2 years in a row, no matter what your record. I know Wisconsin and Penn St. have outstanding bowl records. I'll give you the one about Ohio State's
record in the last two bowl games, though.
Ohio State is 8-0 against teams who are in bowl games this year.
Three of them are teams outside of the Big Ten. Hopefully they will be 9-0 against such teams.

My favorite team is the Gators, so I don't have anything at stake here because I hate the Canes too! If OSU won, I don't think I could be too bummed about it because I'd be glad the Canes DIDN'T win. lol I just didn't want any of these OSU fans to know that. It might take a little luster off me talking trash. :D

Bottom line is "BALL CONTROL" and if the Buckeyes can keep the ball away with a strong ground game they have a good chance, Fall behind and play catch-up and it could be a very long day... If it stays close this could be a game for the ages if not bring plenty to drink and hope the silver bullet girls are watching the game where you are :D

I live in Cleveland too... May have to get together someday and show you around my neck of the woods SE Ohio :D
At the very least that FISHY smell would leave the Cleveland area for a day or two :D
You ever hear of Capt Andy? He does the Perch Fest every year. Anyway he will be cooking perch dinners for the club I belong to if you'd like to HOOK-UP, no pun intended ;) and eat good and BS a little sometime in March? Also he will have a wildgame dinner sometime around then too if interested...

Oh ok, so the fact that Miami CRUSHED OSU a while ago...forgive me if I'm wrong here...but what was the score... 47-21? (Correct me if I'm wrong) and the OSU players all said that they have never seen speed like that before in their lives. (Ummm yes, they said that. I have a buddy that went to OSU that was friends with a few of them and they partied together)

I believe you about the speed, but the score was something like 23-12. That was an 6-6 Ohio State team. They were comming off the 11-1 season and alot of players were lost to graduation and leaving early for the NFL- Joe Germaine and David Boston among others.
Ohio State is a much better team now, but I'd say Miami is better than they were then too.
Stumpsitter, do you have a link to that score?
I don't remember the score to be honest and I couldn't be sure if my life depended on it, but I could have sworn the score was 47-21.
Of course, being a couple years ago I could be thinking of some other game, but that's what I remember...or think I do...

Obviously the past isn't too reliable. In the past no one thought OSU would go 13-0.........in the past it would be great to beat Michigan.......but beat them two years in a row?
Last time I checked OSU played three ranked teams, Miami played two. The three teams OSU played were ranked higher than the two Miami played.

They are in the Outback bowl and will beat Florida. They go to a bowl game just about every year. What's that got to do with the Suckeyes losing to Miami?? And I mean badly!!!;)
My Sooners are going to kick butt, but I'm afraid the Gators will get their butts handed to them. They are a terrible team and don't belong in the same bowl as a team as good as Michigan imo. :(

Yea, but I'm too nervous to even enjoy watching the game.
I have to stop having a favorite team and just enjoy the games.
With all the Detroit teams, they're so bad that I don't expect them to win so I can enjoy it...the Gators just aren't the same style team with Spurrier gone and I can't ever see them play so it's not the same and it's no big deal since my following of them has waned greatly with each passing year, but the Sooners.. I have liked them since the mid 70's and have a tape sent to me of every game from a friend.
I don't even talk about the Sooners until I know there aren't any Husker fans around. They're so biased it isn't funny. :D :D
The Sooners could be up by 40 and I'd still be a nervous wreck. And they aren't doing so great right now against wazzu.

Iowa has a tough game against USC though. That should be a good game because I think USC is the third best team in the Country. Of course Oklahoma is the best. :rolleyes: ;)

She got up and gave me one of those "Dude, you are an idiot" looks and slowly walked into the other room and hasn't came back out. She's not used to this because I see most OU games on tape and don't get too excited because I know the outcome. :D

You know what's funny, all smack talking aside... I was talking to some of the guys at work (they're OSU fans) and they and I all agreed that OSU could win the game if Clarrett had a great game, if not OSU would get blown out. Neither team could run the ball and it was all about Defense.
It just goes to show that the old cliche' that defense wins Championships holds true. I like that.

Bottom line is "BALL CONTROL" and if the Buckeyes can keep the ball away with a strong ground game they have a good chance, Fall behind and play catch-up and it could be a very long day... After all is said and done (crow is gone too) all the BigTen fans should try to remember that when one team wins it helps us all down the road... We play better teams and have tougher schedules which allows more BigTen teams to earn a spot in the national title game... With that I say "Go BigTen" and that includes the team from the north...

I just read another update on the knee, he tore all three major ligamets in his knee. Man the guy will be lucky to ever go pro. Poor guy, even though I didn't like him during the game, I hate to see that happen.

He's in the draft. They project him to go about the third rd. and is supposed to finish rehab after being signed. I'd take him! Sign him w/ a low salary or maybe league minimum and see what happens. If he returns to full strength then you just got one heck of a bargain.
