You can hunt until 12:00 noon. By 12:01 you had better be heading out of the woods with your gun unloaded.

Actually the regs say "Hours 1/2 hour before sunrise to noon." is the turkey hunting times.. It doesn't mention anything about immediately leaving the woods.. I can unload my gun and walk around looking for mushrooms for the rest of the day if I like.... I could even leave my gun loaded and hunt coyotes the rest of the day too.. It just states i have to quit hunting turkeys by noon.......
Hunting is defined by the ODNR as
HUNTING means pursuing, shooting, killing, following after or on the trail of, lying in wait for, shooting at, or wounding wild birds or wild quadrupeds while employing any device commonly used to kill or wound wild birds or wild quadrupeds whether such acts result in such killing or wounding or not. It includes every attempt to kill or wound and every act of assistance to any other person in killing or wounding or attempting to kill or wound wild birds or wild quadrupeds.
SO.. I can have my loaded gun as long as i'm not pursuing turkeys..
If I want to pursue turkeys after the noon deadline i need to get rid of "any device commonly used to kill or wound wild birds" I.E my gun...
I can leave my gun at the base of my tree and go chase birds all over for the rest of the day... As long as i don't have in my possession any device commonly used to kill a bird. I can leave my gun at the base of a tree, under the leaves. If you don't want to do that I could just leave the trigger group... Or i could even just leave all my ammo.. It would be very hard to argue that i was trying to kill birds when i left all mt ammo somewhere else..

you might to leave your turkey calls with the gun laying in the leaves.
You never know, if your calling after 12 noon, you might call in a game warden.

I'm sure you will if one is within hearing distance.. But as long as you don't have anything used to kill that bird then you're fine..
