I copied the recipe for the WHITETAIL DEER HOMEMADE MINERAL MIX. I'm ready to start buying the ingredients for this. When should I start putting it out? I'm thinking as soon as possible. Also, how often should the sites be refreshed? Thank you!

Your right! Now is the time for antler growth and especially get the does to find the location for fawn development & nursing. As far as refresh, I think 3-4 times a year, depending on deer herd useage.

Mine is getting hammered as we speak and has been for two weeks. I checked it Friday and it had some fresh tracks. I added about 5#'s of fresh mix and went back yesterday and they had dug a 6" hole in the middle of the lick. If you don't have your minerals out now, get them out ASAP!

Same here...I put mine out 2 weeks ago (new spot) and it was getting hammered within 24hrs! I'll refresh it a few times through the spring/summer/fall to ensure it stays well established.

Mine has been out for about (3) weeks now. First start of any type of antler growth it should be down. Generally 2nd week in March.

Begin in Feb. Refresh twice during the first year six months apart then once a year thereafter once established.
Di Cal doubled in price since last year.

About swallowed my chaw when they gave me the price on that down at the feed mill. Between that and corn, I'm gonna be in the poor house before long!
