I have about 10 rounds of 36 inch diameter silver maple that needs splitting out back...... dang. :nono: That stupid maple kept creeping up on the hose.. And filling my sewer line with roots twice a year.. I had some husqvarna for it.... Now I got to split it :bonk:

Boy! Splitting wood ain't a matter of how many times you need to hit it hard... It's a matter of reading it's face and hitting it where it wants to split then hitting the same spot.....

lope , that maple splits like butter . i have some quilted maple you can try . a wedge wont even do the job . start it with a 4 lb hammer then hit it with the sledge . the wedge jumps straight up about two feet . lol. aint no pickneck for sure . h

I cut some wood yesterday. I set up the fram for a play house/fort in the woods behind where my daughter takes horse back riding lessons. I was going to and do some more work on it today, but I overslept. I'll have to finish it next weekend when we return from our vacation. We'll see if it holds up or not though.

And when you get finished you can flip it over with the tire on the bottom to keep the rain out and keep the bottom of the log from rotting.
