Found this little bit of wisdom on another site:coco::dizzy::(

The Scenario: You know turkeys are feeding and breeding in the middle of a large green field surrounded by woods.
The Tactic: Sit/Git ... or Give Up
The Reasoning: Sit as close to the field's edge as you can and try to call the hens to you. If they ignore you, wait them out and see where they go. If they go away from you, circle around the green field and ambush them as they enter the woods. If you can't get around them, note where they exit the field and be set up with a decoy near that spot the next morning. Or if it's private land and you're desperate, crawl up to them using a strutting gobbler silhouette decoy held in front of you.:coco: If that doesn't work, dig a pit in the middle of the field at night and wait for them to march by in the morning. If that doesn't work, find some easier turkeys!

BTW just for you new turkey hunters. DO NOT DO THIS!

My best friend's family owns 164 acres farm in NE Ohio. My friend hunts alone opening day of deer gun season on his family's farm. He's confronted by 3 approaching Amish men driving through his setup on his property around 10 am. My friend confronts all 3 men, confiscates their firearms, and returns home with their guns in hand. He sends them down his woodlot onto the next woodlot around 10 am without their weapons and tells them to pick up their weapons that evening at the family farm where the sheriff will be awaiting. True story.
