Well, tomorrow is the day that the rest of the state has been looking for, got the truck loaded up and coffee set for 5 am, Boys stuff set out and dog is chomping at the bit:cool: . If them ducks are still in the air like last week should be some fun :D . Time to get my Quack fix:eek: .

7th,hope your cleaning some ducks by now, how was the south opener? i,m still duckless up north but we limited out on geese this morn. i woulda,cuda,shoulda,had some teal but i left the gun in the blind to go get two geese in the swamp,and thats the time a flock of about twenty teal buzzed in and i,m staring at two about thirty feet from me.and the rest is history.well anyhoo hope your sat. was a good one

What a day, got out and set up, had time for 2 cups of coffee in the blind before some other group came up and set up about 100 yards from us. We let alot of ducks go, not wanting to shoot over the others head and the war that started at the South end of the lake. I am very proud of my son for passing up all the ducks that he did, well I did some bird dogging for him and a Mallerd hen buzzed him, droping her with one very good shot at 20 yds. He let the next hen go by and lined up on a Woodie Dreak and nothing happened, in all the excitement of his first duck he did not reload his pump and shuckec out a empty shell.
I did not far as well, missed a mallerd hen after he shot his (she was heading for him and I did not want him to shot it and be over his limet) but he say her and went for the dreak. I did get a Woodie and well 3 shots 1 Woodie for Dad, 1 shot 1 Mallerd for son, a morning in the Duck blined with my oldest boy : Priceless:D .
Next week it is off to WV for a youth only doe hunt and I hope his first deer.
2003 will be remembered for a long time in this home: Alex 14 first Turkey and Duck. Jimmy 5 first Tree Rat. and we are still counting.

We ended up with 5 woodies and 1 greenhead Saturday.
