I just got a tax map of harrison county and see alot of parcels are owned by consol or consolidate coal or other coal companies. I have heard people mention buying consol ground but I cant find any info to contact them. Has anyone ever bought coal co land and what is the process. Any tips appreciated. thanks

I will get you my contact at Consol when I get to my office tomorrow. He might be able to get you in touch with the right person...

The land that we bought with james was owned by the conservation fund, so was the land he just bought. They are a pain to work with and usually won't work with you unless you buy everthing.

Consol will sometimes sell, but usually something is funny with the rights, or deeds against the land. But definately give them a call, they might have something.

Cheap.............you better research the property and make sure all the mineral and timber rights go with the property. I would have it write in the contract, if the mineral and timber do not transfer, no sell. To really know, you must have a real estate lawyer research the property for you.
