I catch them quite a bit when I am fishing at Greenup locks. Usually mid to late spring. I normally dont target skipjack so im not sure if thats good advice or not.

Me and a buddy caught a bunch last year at the Galiopolis dam.Used for coon bait and to make fish oil. There must have been 20 people down there at the time catching them for an up coming catfish tourney.I ended up catching 6 real nice ones. :bouncy::bouncy:

We usually hammer them in mid to late April to mid may, when they are up you will know it. Try throwing small jigs, we typically will throw mini-foo on the short line of a double rig. At any rate they are a blast to catch! Great catfish and Hybrid baits too! We fish below the roller dams and tail races, you will know when they push into the pool, or should I say you will see them movin in. Definitely get you an ultra-lite outfit, they kind of remind me of a miniature Tarpon, I posted a link just did a quick look and posted it.

To me it seems to be the ugly kid theory. Go to the park and yell " Get your ugly kid out of the park". No one will look because they know their kid is not ugly

I have caught them this time of the year on Racoon Creek. They were everywhere. We just waited till we seen them bust top water and caster to them.
