Ya i was there opening day it gets smaller every year. I dint even think it was worth it. Like it serious was smaller but hey that my 2 cents, people tell me back in the day it was so big that held it at the convention center.

I went when I was a kid when it was at the convention center and it was huge. I went last year at the IX and was really really dissapointed. I'd been in past years and just as the last poster said, it gets smaller every year. I'm not going this year either.

Man i went to the sportsman show when it was in downtown Cleveland in the 50's every year - we were a bunch of bugg-eyed kids when we saw all that stuff - our neighbor would take a bunch of us kids from the hood - they use ta pass out a lot of neet stuff - fishin lures - patchs - lll tubes of oil and grease - feeshin line - sinkers - hooks and stuff like that and had a lot of acts you could watch like log rollin and tree climbin races and stuff - dang that was so cool - we didn't have any money to buy nuffin but a pop and hot dog but we sure had a good time :)

Evening Gang.
I must agree, the Cleveland Sportsmen Show is a bust, it's not worth paying the parking fee even if was free to get in. Each year it goes down hill even more then the year before. Now if you want to travel, take a white water trip or get a free plastic bag or a yard stick from a booth then it is ok. :D
When it was down down it was awesome as some you you mentioned above. Not only was it big, I can remember the shows they had. Log rolling in a big pool, quick draw shooting, Lab's diving into the pool retreving, lumber jack shows...and on and on. My two cents.
Not that I am pushing you guys to spend your hard earned cash out of state but you should really check out and go to the Sportsmen show in Harrisburg, PA. Plan of getting a hotel for at least a night. I would drive up, check in sometime in the evening, hit the show all day Saturday and most of Sunday. Building after building of hunting, fishing, camping,...ect. It is an experience.

AT the convention center you could count on great discounts on real quality lures, rods reels, turkey stuff. Jungle Larry, bear rastling. I just dont excited over outfitters, guides, mobile homes, tents and home improvement fly by night contractors.

I live like 10 minutes away from the IX center and I dont go to the Sportsmans SHow there.
It is NOT good. Not Worth The drive or the money to Park or the admission.
Years and years ago it was great, but It has been CRAP fr the past 7 or 8 years atleast. maybe even longer.
And it gets worse and smaller every year.
