From the floor to the bottom of the windows on the Vision it is 31" and the total width is 77" (6'5"). So I modified the railing height and design a little to avoid any clearance issues and allow for easy modification down the road if my parents sell the house. I will also squeeze the platform down to 7'. This will ensure I can use either blind and minimize the risk of clearing the railing even further.
I plan on spending a full day Sunday working on this and the other projects I have going on in that area. Should have some good stuff to pass on come Monday...

i made a couple of those in texas at the gun lease i was on...both were very portable believe it or not...especially one i had that had a framework on the top made of camo netting...i sprayed the roof netting with tent waterproofer very heavy to make the roof waterproof...i angled the legs to prevent the stiff texas wind from blowing them over...wind is very consistant in texas from the west...it will blow from that direction all day with no change...i used a scoped 30/o6 i lined the bottom of the windows with soft strips of weatherseal for queitness and rested the gun on ...i also had carpet and a 360 degree turn bass seat with back...deer didnt stand a chance with that 30/06 talk about cheating...:D:biggrin:

no i never needed to...the others used homemade feeders but everyone of them spread the corn...i never seen corn piled down there...even back then they must have realized the potential of what could happen...this was long before we heard of cwd...there was a lot of deer in that county...it lead tx. in deer pop. almost twice the size of ohios deer pop...disease could spread very fast under those circumstances...biggest herd i seen at once was 100 deer
hopefully i can find some pics of my stands and take a pic of them and show them...warning the one is camoed very well and hard to see...:D

Platform for a ground blind...
I may have asked before, but what kind of blind are you using? Or have you not bought one yet?
And a little FYI, make sure you secure that puppy up there! I had my hub blind set up on my porch late in fall. There was barely enough room for it to even sit there. I got up in the morning and it was gone! Wind somehow rolled it down the steps and up against the AC unit behind the house. I was freakin' out thinking someone stole it! :nono:

I will bolts and washer to secure it through the supplied brass o-rings...
I am going to buy a Primos Vision blind. I checked it out at Vance's this winter and I believe it is the best blind for the money. I've been in Double-Bulls and set them up and I don't see the price difference honestly...

I completely agree.
I was thinking for an elevated position, a blind with one of the long, tall shooting windows would be good, though. I've seena few of the new Ameristeps have those sorts of windows on the corners.

I'm still tayloring this towards gun hunting and filming. I like the 360 for that. Those windows are so quiet it is amazing after being in my Escape Deluxe. This is my "lazy" day spot. I will have a double-set hung or two hunt near here where I will do most of my personal hunting...

Add wheels to the bottom and removal side rails for ease of adjustment.

Jesse, check out the ameristep intimidator blind for your platform. I got one last year to take my 6 year old daughter out with me. It might work out real well for your intended use. 360 viewing, 3 camera ports & magnetic window closures. It's real roomy & quiet. I got mine for $150.00 after rebate through an online store.

I might have to look at that one. I probably won't put a blind up until August, so I am going to look around at everything and see what I really like the best. Thanks for the suggestion...
