I am going to get a new gun and am wondering what the difference is between the bull barrels and the regular barrels. Can someone please clear this up and would it be worth getting a bull barrel for varmints?
Thanks.

Less barrel flex while firing improving accuracy and increased mass for heat dispersion. Less barrel temperature change from shot to shot reducing variables. A cold barrel shoots better.

Right on JLope....
Bull barrels are cylindrical along their whole length with no tapering. This helps to minimize the effects of barrel vibration on accuracy as well.

What Jack and 56 said. (Jack, I agreed with you:shhh::D)
The disadvantage to a bull bbl is carrying weight. But the weight can be an advantage when shooting, especially off hand.

Did you agree with me because you thought I was right; or did you just decided to stop being wrong all the time... It's nice to see :D

I thought I was was wrong once...but I was mistaken.:o
Actually you're right more then you're wrong. But you are fun to argue with when you're wrong. MOST of the time your arguments are at least intelligent and well thought out (except for that Round-up crap ;))

I wasn't prepared for that one, and was how do you say, talking out of my butt.. You know the actual reason i don't want round-up... You guys just wouldn't leave it alone, digging and digging and digging… I asked one question and ended up with 10 back…. i had to keep going.. It's a tactic as old as the hills, if you can't win the argument, just confuse the hell out of everyone.. ;)
