I recently finished reading this.
The author chronicles a season where he hunted on private and public ground in Wisconsin, North Dakota, Missouri, Ohio, and Michigan. He spent the vast majority of his travels living out of his minivan, using jugs of water to take outdoor "showers", and eating a lot of cold soup meals. His total financial outlay for 3 months of multi state almost non-stop scouting and hunting was $2,911.15.
This is a really good read. Chris is a good writer and his account of this adventure makes you feel like you're there experiencing what he did.
