This year had many first's for me. My son got his first deer. I got my first buck (a 9 pt. bow kill mounted by Ernie Wallace from Westerville, OH), I found my first shed, and within 15 yards of it I found a complete skeleton and my first head! I had been looking for sheds but stayed on the trails. Thanks to the help of the more experienced shed hunters I checked out a bedding area and lo and behold I found my treasures!

I saw the shed buck last year. I had a huge body but the rack was messed up and looked like a bird's nest on top of its head. The shed has 10 points but unfortunately, the tree rats got to it first. Interestingly the skull doesn't have a single mark except where the moss was growing.

I'm guessing since the skeleton was complete and the antlers unmolested it surely must have died this year.

And I thought the buck I shot was nice:

Now if I can only get my first long beard...........

Henseldd..

Nice buck and sheds...hey if you want to kill gobblers consistently..Learn to master whatever calll you prefer..Once you master it..Work on rythem..rythem in calling is the key to fooling Gobblers..Mix up your calling..Not just one series of yelps..but rather pur putt and then throw in a couple yelps..quickly followed by a high pitched putt...Mix it up and you'll kill a gobbler every time you goto the woods.:D

Listen to me mixing up the rythem...thats the key..good luck this season.;)
