the best spot i know at pike island is at the end of the walkway on the sand bar , i see em catching them there all the time on twister tails tipped with minnows , or at the end of the pier with same set up , ther is also some nice flat head fishing there with bluegills and chubs

First let me say hello to all,
We have gone to Pike Island a few times this season. We go about 1/4 mile below the damn and target the smallies. Got a few really nice ones so far, my biggest being 3 pounds. A buddy caught one that weighed in at a shade over 5 (WHAT A DANDY). Also catching saugeye, white bass, and a couple of hybrids. The biggest smaillies were caught on live shiners. I dont use live bait very much, so I have got mine on Mister Twister type lures, as well as Chatterbait's and rebel crawdads. We caught one Hybrid that went 8 pounds( Nice Fish).
The river is a mess right now, so we went to a few pits yesterday. Caught 3 dinks on a Mann's Hardnose Lizard, and one or two on Super Joe's Flies.
