Coonie,
I used to fish at Apple Valley all the time. A good friend of mine has a place on the lake with his own dock. Due to all the people that have moved there from May until October you might as well hang up the gear unless it is poor weather. We tried bass fishing it five times last year and could hardly stay on the deck. Sooooo many boats now. Like fishing Erie at times with the waves from boat wakes:irked: Great early spring and mid/late fall.
Knox I still love. Great fishing all around.
As a whole the area is awesome. Great hunting and fishing....also very beautiful with the rolling hills with agriculture mixed in.
Did I mention perfect whitetail habitat:bouncy:

I've fished Apple Valley quite a bit. The usual fish are there crappie, bass, etc., but there are also some stripers. They stocked them in the 70's, and the fisherman hated them, they would throw them on the banks. Every now and then people will catch one. Knox lake is great for crappie, it's my favorite spot to fish. I haven't had much luck at Kokosing. There's also Foundation Park in Mt. Vernon. The hunting up there is pretty good as well.

It is quiet in the evening. The Kokosing River is a great smallmouth river. Great scenery and bald eagles.
